Anatomical Protection Engineered from the Inside Out

Since 1853, CHIBA has integrated medical hand anatomy into every contour. Designed to combat numbness and nerve compression during endurance cycling, CHIBA's patented BioXCell two-stage system redefines riding comfort.

80%+

German Sports Medicine Clinical Proof: Eliminates hand numbness in over 80% of cases

Hand numbness is not an inevitable price of long rides. Blocking direct handlebar pressure on the ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel restores a pain-free, relaxed, and responsive grip.

PROBLEM ANALYSIS · CLINICAL INSIGHTS

Why Do Hands Go Numb and Hurt During Long Rides?

Two vital nerve pathways govern hand sensation and muscular control. When upper body weight presses down on rigid handlebars with high-frequency road vibrations, nerve compression leads to ischemia, tingling, numbness, and grip fatigue.

▲ German Official Dot-Matrix Anatomy: Green dashed line indicates Ulnar Nerve, blue dashed line indicates Median Nerve

● Ulnar Nerve Pathway (Guyon's Canal)

Ulnar Nerve Compression

Nerve Pathway (Green dotted line): Extends along the hypothenar muscles on the outer palm, controlling sensory feedback and motor dexterity for the ring and little fingers.
Mechanism of Compression: When riding in drops or holding the outer brake hoods, body weight continuously bears on the outer palm bones. Without ergonomic protection, the handlebar directly squeezes the ulnar nerve, disrupting nerve transmission.
Typical Symptoms: Numbness and tingling in the little and ring fingers, numbness along the outer palm edge, reduced finger dexterity, and weakened shifting control after long rides.

▲ Handlebar Pressure Cross-Section: Red circle and lightning bolts highlight Median Nerve High-Pressure Points

● Median Nerve Pathway (Carpal Tunnel)

Median Nerve & Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Nerve Pathway (Blue cross-section): Passes through a fibro-osseous canal formed by the carpal bones and transverse carpal ligament at the center of the wrist, governing sensation in the thumb, index, and middle fingers.
Mechanism of Compression (Red warning zone): Gripping the handlebar often forces the wrist into hyperextension (excessive dorsiflexion), drastically elevating internal carpal tunnel pressure as the handlebar presses directly against the bony canal.
Typical Symptoms: Numbness, burning, and tingling in the thumb, index, and middle fingertips; in severe cases, pain flares up at night due to natural tissue swelling during sleep.
PATENTED SOLUTION · ERGONOMIC DESIGN

BioXCell Two-Stage Gel: Carpal Tunnel Pressure Relief

Conventional cycling gloves place flat, uniform padding across the palm center, which inadvertently channels handlebar stress directly onto the median nerve. CHIBA developed the patented BioXCell geometry to revolutionize cycling ergonomics:

▲ CHIBA BioXCell Palm: Two-tier raised gel pads on outer palm, central relief channel, and Quick-Pull removal loops.

01

0.8cm Two-Stage Outer Elevation (Zweistufiger Aufbau)

Two-tier high-density gel pads are positioned over the hypothenar eminence on the outer palm, raising the support platform by approximately 0.8 cm to distribute body weight evenly and fully shield the ulnar nerve.

02

Carpal Tunnel Anatomical Relief Gap (Carpal Tunnel Relief)

Because the outer palm is elevated, an anatomical clearance is created over the carpal tunnel at the center of the wrist. The handlebar no longer makes direct contact with the median nerve, completely eliminating pressure hot spots.

03

Natural Posture Correction & High-Frequency Vibration Damping

The contoured geometry naturally guides the wrist into an ergonomically straight alignment, preventing strain from over-bending. Combined with Poron damping molecules, it filters high-frequency road vibrations before they reach tendons and nerves.
