GERMAN SPORTS ERGONOMICS · SPORTS MEDICINE ENGINEERING
Since 1853, CHIBA has integrated medical hand anatomy into every contour. Designed to combat numbness and nerve compression during endurance cycling, CHIBA's patented BioXCell two-stage system redefines riding comfort.
Hand numbness is not an inevitable price of long rides. Blocking direct handlebar pressure on the ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel restores a pain-free, relaxed, and responsive grip.
Two vital nerve pathways govern hand sensation and muscular control. When upper body weight presses down on rigid handlebars with high-frequency road vibrations, nerve compression leads to ischemia, tingling, numbness, and grip fatigue.

Conventional cycling gloves place flat, uniform padding across the palm center, which inadvertently channels handlebar stress directly onto the median nerve. CHIBA developed the patented BioXCell geometry to revolutionize cycling ergonomics:
▲ CHIBA BioXCell Palm: Two-tier raised gel pads on outer palm, central relief channel, and Quick-Pull removal loops.
Two-tier high-density gel pads are positioned over the hypothenar eminence on the outer palm, raising the support platform by approximately 0.8 cm to distribute body weight evenly and fully shield the ulnar nerve.
Because the outer palm is elevated, an anatomical clearance is created over the carpal tunnel at the center of the wrist. The handlebar no longer makes direct contact with the median nerve, completely eliminating pressure hot spots.
The contoured geometry naturally guides the wrist into an ergonomically straight alignment, preventing strain from over-bending. Combined with Poron damping molecules, it filters high-frequency road vibrations before they reach tendons and nerves.
Beyond BioXCell ergonomic padding, every CHIBA cycling glove incorporates certified high-tech composites and patented functional details engineered to withstand all-weather endurance riding:
Patented loops located between the middle and ring fingers allow effortless glove removal even when soaked with sweat, preventing fabric distortion and seam tearing.
Featuring open-cell micro-molecules that remain soft at rest but instantly solidify on impact, absorbing up to 90% of shock energy to protect delicate metacarpal joints.
Durable synthetic microfibre combined with precision laser-cut ventilation channels delivers high abrasion resistance while maintaining airflow on hot summer rides.
High-elasticity, ultra-durable digital carbon texture provides crisp handlebar feedback and non-slip traction for confident steering response.
Wear-resistant silicone coatings positioned on primary contact areas ensure a secure hold on handlebars and shifters even in wet or rainy conditions.
Skin-friendly, ultra-absorbent cotton terry cloth on the outer thumb allows riders to easily wipe away sweat during intense climbs without irritating the skin.
Integrated conductive microfibers on fingertips allow smooth operation of cycling computers, smartphones, and GPS navigators without removing gloves.
High-quality construction and certified colorfast dyes ensure gloves can be machine-washed at 30°C on gentle cycle without hardening or losing elasticity.
