Three Steps to Measure Hand Circumference

01

Find the Position

Spread your dominant hand flat and locate the widest part across your palm just below the base of your thumb.

02

Wrap Around

Wrap a flexible measuring tape snugly around the widest part of your palm without pulling tight, excluding the thumb.

03

Record Measurement

Note the reading in centimeters. If you do not have a tape measure, wrap a strip of paper around your palm and measure it against a ruler.

Children have different hand proportions—fingers are typically shorter and palms broader. Therefore, children's sizes cannot be directly converted to adult sizes. Age can serve as a rough guide: half the age roughly equals glove size, though individual variations are common.

For adults, palm circumference is generally proportional to overall hand dimensions. These figures are guidelines; glove fits vary by intended use: cycling gloves utilize high-elasticity fabrics for a close fit, while winter gloves incorporate thermal air insulation and require a roomier fit.
